OUR STORY

What started as a dream in 2007, became a reality in 2010.

A frustrated wine sales & marketing specialist was lamenting the lack of beer at his office bar on a Friday afternoon and began a conversation with colleagues on beer, which they all loved to drink before moving to wine over a meal. However, when asked what was their favourite and why, it didn't have much to do with taste or how the beer was made. Suddenly an idea dawned on him – he hadn't seen a beer that championed the ingredients rather than the brand, or took into consideration how Mother Nature had influenced the growing of the barley or hops.

He then brought it up over a few quiet beers with two wine passionate friends at a pub in Sydney;

“I’d love to see a beer made like wine – brewed to express the variations in ingredients from year to year”.
“Why don’t brewers get out there in the hop fields like winemakers in a vineyard”?
“Surely putting more care into what goes into the brew results in a better flavour”?

So began 3 years of reading, searching, calling and visiting all corners of brewing in Australia. Then in early 2010, a favour from two graphic designer friends gave the vision an epicentre with a choice of 12 label designs, one of which leapt off the page.

The next couple of months saw all the information tipped into a business plan and presentation, and with the one goal of “not dying wondering”, the concept of True Vintage Beer was presented to a major Australia retailer. A 15 minute meeting slot was still going after 45 minutes, and 8 days later we had orders!

9 weeks of limited sleep and adrenalin followed, and on August 3rd 2010 Endeavour True Vintage Beer was launched!

Our beers are currently brewed under contract in New South Wales using the finest raw materials sourced from within Australia (with a slight dash from overseas).
