ABOUT US
We can really be summarised in one sentence – “3 blokes having a go”...... who love beer, and who couldn't have done it without the help of a few mates pitching in as shareholders!
Our brewer, Andy "Bear" Stewart, has worked in all aspects of the wine industry. Starting his career 13 years ago in sales and marketing whilst studying viticulture, he then moved to the Southern Highlands of New South Wales with McVitty Grove Wine Company, establishing the company vineyards and eventually working up to become General Manager of the estate. A couple of years with The Fosters Group instilled the beer bug, and then, whilst managing a specialist wine import business, the first steps of brewing were learnt. Andy has judged at many wine shows throughout Australia, been involved with high-profile media tastings, as well as leading various Wine Education events. He has entered the brewing world under the wing of industry stalwarts Nick Button and Bruce Peachey to learn his trade.
The other two fella’s help out on the side. One is a wine marketing and sales veteran, and helps out with (strangely!) sales and marketing. The third, a chartered accountant practising for over 13 years… well, he looks after the figures and tries to keep our feet on the ground (c'mon, when can we build the brewery in Tassie? pleeeeeease!).
The result is a small vintage beer company that has launched high quality traditional ales created using the finest ingredients, all carefully selected from growing regions that experienced the best vintage conditions and presented the truest expression of variety and place. Whilst we don't have our own brewery yet, our recipes are our own and we hope one day to build our own beer 'estate'.
